Boohoohoo, OCIP is over=( Now kindda having post ocip syndrome le. Well, as they sae, all good things will come to an end. In just a short 8 days, i have seen myself smile more and laugh more than my whole year in school. What can i say... Life is not all about mugging. I guess i have gotten much from this trip, i now have a more positive attitude towards life, now i look differently at my academics misses, its just like the paper plane thing we did during one of the debrief sessions. To let you peeps have a clearer view, the activity goes this way. Three groups, three pieces of paper, a wet one, a crumpled one and a normal one. My group took the wet paper, we are supposed to fold a plane and make it fly the furthest. In light of the situation, we had to lower our expectation, as long as the plane could fly, we are happy. I guess, for a person like me, a less intelligent, lower IQ (probably) person, i am just like the wet paper, i simply have to lower my expectations. As long as i get my four As, that will suffice. I am used to being a high flyer, now, i must really stop setting those high expectations for myself.
Simplicity is also a form of happiness.I felt like i am living in a dream during the past 8 days, that's without the spoiler when i called my mum and she complained bout my lousy results. Life there was so wonderful, simple yet fantastic. The children there were filled with enthusiasm about studying. While we found going to school a chore, they have a thirst for knowledge. After 3 hours of teaching, we asked if they were tired, and they replied an energetic no. I couldn't even pay attention for 20 minutes! They found happiness in their harsh environments, even they are poorer then us, have worse facilities as us, they still live everydae with joy. We must therefore be satisfied with what we have, and contented.
Thinking of whether i should do a review of the 8 days, like what i did for SLC like two years back. Maybe i should since i have plenty of time now. But nort todae=) Kindda regretted not writing it down my reflections everydae=/ I really miss the people there, nort really close to all, but there are few that i want to acknowledge, for making this trip a much more enjoyable one! First and foremost! A9+1, thanks royston and qibo! and the plus one, adrea! Had great times with you people in A9, all the sharing and talking, let's hope the a9+1 spirit will last forever!
